The One About Razer Abyssus

I received my new mouse yesterday! I bought a Razer Abyssus mirror edition online. (Razor wad you said?)

So, what’s the big deal about a mouse?

Well, for most of us, it doesn’t really matter. But for those hardcore gamers, it matters VERY much. They will be ecstatic when you mention Razer.

I’m not a gamer (of recent times) so I didn’t really need a gaming mouse. So why did I get one?

Abyssus is one of the more basic mouse by Razer. Or rather a more affordable one. The realllllyyyy high end ones goes for at least RM400+.

And I figured if it can last through the abuses of being used by the typical gamer, then it should last very very long in my possession.

Some sort of an investment so to say.

And it was awesome. You will know when you use it. It’s so smooth and it fits well in your hands, unless you have really small hands.

Oh and it comes in a nice box! Haha… but the evil poslaju people dented it!

Time for photos as my previous mouse goes into retirement ~

Since it’s the mirror edition, it’s all shiny and pretty.

Thank goodness it’s not a fingerprint magnet, I think.

And the mirror edition is more expensive than the normal matte edition.

And I love the blue glow ~

How much is it? Not telling.

But I bought it for at least RM65 cheaper! I’m amazed that it is that expensive in Kuching.

La la la…

When my 14-year-old keyboard dies, I will get a Razer keyboard too (I hope)…

The One About Photo of the Day

My masterpiece for the day!

Somehow the black frame accentuates the colour. La di da ~P1110508

Going home for lunch!

You can only eat that much kopitiam food in a week… Seriously 😛

The One About Being Bored at Work

2.20pm:

Why do I have the feeling that time is passing very slowly today?

Is it aggravated by my need to sleep?

I can’t find enough interesting stories for my short news column. I had to use one about a gigantic potato. All 8kg of it. Yawn

2.39pm:

I still need another story for my column. All news are blardy boring.

2.58pm:

When I read news about unfortunate people, I feel guilty. Guilty for spending money on things that hardly counts as necessities.

Let me share this news I just read and translated.

A 95-year-old nonagenarian is living alone in poverty in Ipoh as her only relative, her son, in his 70s, is living in Singapore with his children.

She has to spend all festivities and occasions alone and has to live on whatever little savings she has from working till her 80s as a painter and a cleaner.

Her sick son comes back to visit her only once a year and he gives her a small amount of money (how much I wonder).

She was a victim of her husband’s abuse in her younger days and she left with her only son, who moved to Singapore for work and stayed on permanently.

She was robbed two months ago. A thief broke into her house and took away her RM88, RM40 of which was meant for her property tax.

She gets help from kind neighbours like one who gave her an old baby pram, which helps her to walk as she is weak in the knees.

She had to walk almost two hours to a nearby welfare centre to ask for help with help of the pram.

A kind Indian man often checks on her regularly to see if there’s anything that she needs repairing. He sent her to the hospital after she hurt herself once

After stories as such, I feel ashamed of myself for buying a RM100+ mouse when many people out there cannot even afford their meals.

I feel guilty for spending more than RM10 on a meal or wanting DSLRs.

Life is just unfair and we shouldn’t complain as we are already leading the better life compared to most.

Anyway, while writing the above story, an editor asked if I’m interested to be a court reporter. Truthfully, I am not but I can’t say no to his face. He’s gonna talk to my boss and I hope she says no. Haha… The court is so far from my office. It’s like all the way across Kuching. And besides, I do not know the court’s technical language. I will have to go for training in KK.

Well, it’s just not what I am interested in. I wonder which is worse. Covering nature or court.

Done with all six stories. Time to proofread before sending them in.

When I woke up today, I thought I set my alarm wrongly. The sky was still dark and not a sign of light was seen.

I dragged myself up anyway. And it was raining heavily. Someone should declare that any working day with heavy rain should be cancelled.

After much procrastinating, I finally sat in the car to drive to work.

I have never seen traffic jam that bad in my entire two months since work. It took me about 50 minutes to reach office. I was 5 minutes late but oh well…

You know how it is during traffic jams. Slow. Add rain to slow. And you get sleepiness.

The sound of the raindrops hitting my car is like lullaby to my ears.

The swift movements of the windshield wiper is like hypnosis to my eyes.

It was all I could do to not fall asleep on the way to work.

Sigh. Rainy days are meant for only one thing. Sleep.

The One About a Flu-day

I AM BORED.

And sick.

Ugh.

I went home for lunch just now and came back before 2. Thank goodness there wasn’t any traffic jams.

Then it took me less than an hour to complete my work, which I am reading over now and it is still 3.35pm only.

I can’t breathe through my nose so my mouth is very dry. No amount of water seems to help much.

Two and a half hours to go. Sad.

I do not like to read and reread my own work. It’s boring. Even during exams. I hate checking my work so I always end up leaving the examination hall.

Being sick makes me boring. I don’t even have anything interesting to share today! sigh…

About the PTPTN update issue I mentioned earlier, I asked my friend if she knew about it earlier. She did but she did not update her details. Because (in her own words) “… I thought it might be difficult ma..”

I was speechless.

She left it off since Tuesday (two days ago) because she thought a form is too difficult to fill?

I.AM.AMAZED.

I’m actually quite confused by the PTPTN system. Especially how they calculate the interests and all.

When they say 3% out of my total loan of RM21k, how much is it? As in, do they get 3% of that amount each year and add it to my debts? 0.o”

The loan calculator at the website doesn’t help. It just confuses me more.

And btw, you have to update your details at the website to qualify for the interest reduction. The new rate will be 1% and still I’m not sure how much difference it will make.

You see, I pay in lumpsums so it’s kinda messy and I’m blur.

I just pay when I have money and wait till a few months later before I pay again or something.

Anyway, just go update your details and wait for them to APPROVE it.

And if you did well (ie. first class degree) go apply for a reduction or something. Whatever it’s called. I’m not even sure what first class is since we only use CGPAs in our uni.

I went to lunch opposite my office just now. I was happily sipping sugarcane drink while waiting for my food when two women just sat down next to me, without asking.

Oh c’mon! At least ask if anyone’s sitting there or something. Noooo… They just plonked their asses into the chairs next to me and act like I’m not there.

*rolls eyes*

I waited and waited for my food. The waiter walked by and looked at me while I looked at him. Then realisation hits him. I narrowed my eyes as his eyes open up wide. And he asked if I still want my order.

Of course I do you dimwit! If I don’t, I would have left!

In case you’re wondering why I didn’t go check on my order, I didn’t want the obnoxious ladies to take over my table and there were no other empty tables at that time!

When my food came, it tasted strange. It seems plain and a little tasteless. I didn’t care. Can’t stand obnoxious women and I ate fast to go away asap.

Ugh… Nice lunch indeed.

Anyway, here’s a couple of edited photos, well same photo different feeling anyway. Which do you prefer?

So, yesterday was the Mooncake Festival. How did you spend it? With family and friends? Or alone?

Did you have mooncake? Or did you look at the moon and appreciate it’s beauty (and try to spot the bunnies on it ^.^)?

Well, mine was pretty boring actually. Went to work as usual. Came home ate dinner also as usual. Went to grandparents’ house but kids weren’t there so no one played lanterns. Picked up sister from tuition and went for supper before heading back home again.

Gah! I want to see ppl playing lantern! I wanna take photos!

But I didn’t get to. I didn’t even eat mooncakes!

Sigh… All I can do was snap photos of the moon. Sad…

And now I’m back at work again, feeling very very sleepy since it’s a rainy day. Almost failed to wake up. Thank goodness for the second alarm!

4. Trip to South Korea (providing I have the first two)

5. Trip to Europe (ie. Paris) (when I have the first two plus a lot of cash to spend, not to mention a really good, long lasting motion sickness pill).

Pyramid at Louvre Museum, Paris, France_1600x1200(All photos above courtesy of Google Images)

Sigh… I have to eat grass for many months just to get the first two. The third is a portrait lens. I love the bokeh effect! Bokeh what? The effect where you shoot portraits with blur background. Gorgeous!

When can I have the above? So that’s why they call it the wishlist. You wish and you wait. And wait some more! Now to cut back on the unnecessary spending.

The trips can wait. I mean, I’m not gonna rush there just to stay at in cheap little rooms where you can’t even enjoy it. Or skimp on local food. You get the idea. But both places are shutterbugs’ heaven. So much photos to take. I’m gonna need a lot of memory cards. Or those with huge capacities.

So, anyway, how much of your salary do you spend? 50%? 75%?

Anyway, another photo to share…
