If you are, like me, looking for ways to play video files on your HTC Legend, I can safely say that I have solved the problem.

Prior to this, I wasn’t sure of the file format that was accepted by the phone (all it said in the manual was 3gp, MP4 and WMV). I experimented with MP4 and it took several attempts to get it to work.

You see, I was trying to play anime files, which are usually in the MKV format. So I had to convert MKV to one of the file types above. I chose MP4.

If you need a converter, a good BUT free one, check this out. This Super converter is simply the best converter to convert any type of audio and video files. And it’s free!

So, I converted it to MP4 (Output video: H.264, Output audio: AAC LC) with a video scale of 360:240, aspect ratio 3:2, 25 fps and Bitrate kbps: 864.

If your original video contains subtitles and you want to retain the subtitles, click Other Opts under the Options box and uncheck Hide Subtitles. The subtitles are hidden by default so for a few hours, I was wondering what happened to my subtitles in the animes.

Hopefully this helped!

(Oh btw, I didn’t realise that there’s a built in video player in the phone cos it’s so discrete. Go to "Photos" in all programs and videos are in there. No idea why it’s under photos. And the best app to play video is Meridian. Go find it in the Marketplace :))

Anyway, if you can’t find the link to the Super converter, I hope the following screen caps help.

From here, scroll down until you see this…

1 Click that and you will go to this page..

2 Click that and you’ll go to the final page…

3And finally you can download the file. Hopefully this is useful. It is discrete but it is free and converts everything!

Okay… a quickie here. Blogging from my phone.

After a dramatic evening, Malaysia beat Denmark 3-2 to proceed to the semi finals in the Thomas Cup. However, they have to face China then on Friday afternoon. Hard battle but hopefully the support from fellow countrymen will push them on!

On the other hand, Malaysia crashed out of the Uber Cup earlier today after a brave battle against India. I have no doubts that the young girls from Malaysia will do well in the future.

And so I was glued to the tv for most part of today, supporting our teams. I am touched by the multiracial supporters cheering on both our teams and that is truly 1Malaysia…
No random photos for today then!
